In an 1897 palazzo two streets from the Arena, Palazzo Cinquale keeps a seasonal kitchen, a cellar that never leaves the Veneto, and a quiet upstairs room where cards are a after-dinner pastime — played with symbolic chips, never for money.

Before you come
One table at a time
Thirty-eight covers is a deliberate limit, which means the room fills early on Fridays and Saturdays. A week ahead is usually enough; the card room always needs a seat put aside.
The dining room
Wednesday to Sunday, kitchen from half past seven until half past eleven. Monday and Tuesday the house is closed unless it has been taken privately.
The card room
Opens after service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and closes at one. Sixteen seats, always reserved in advance, adults only.
Taking the house
The whole palazzo goes to one party for up to thirty-eight guests, or a single room for something smaller. Three weeks notice is comfortable.
